Today we will spend the day in the beautiful Stockholm archipelago with a thousand “kobbar och skär”. Already at 9 am it was hot with a nice breeze so all is set for a nice and sunny day at Grinda. The boat take us there in about an hour.

To another famous island, Sandhamn with posh sailing hotel, great parties (and after beach) and finish for elite sailing competition Gotland Runt, is one hour more on the same boat – we spent a great day there with friends last year drinking wine and tanning our winter pale bodies.

I can warmly recommend to visit the Stockholm archipelago in summertime. If you have time buy a hop on hop off card and visit at least a handful of islands during a week or two, the card is yours for nothing and you can either spend the nights in a tent, cabin or hotel room. You may want to pre book rooms at high season. This boat is full, by the way, so we have to sit inside this sunny hour when it would have been nice with some bracish sea wind.

… Lammet & Grisen (The lamb and the pig)

One of three main courses in the best buffé I have ever had.
First round you eat small slices of delicately cooked pig and the best side orders I have ever had. So well prepared vegetabilies.
Seconde course is based on lamb meat with almost as good side orders. But as it is a buffé and just a suggestion I took more from the first ones.
When I came to number third I was not that hungry any more, I would stress. So, I say ho here very empty and ready to commit one of the seven deathly sins. I tried. My boyfriend made it even for a forth mixed round, not many do.
I have childhood memories from Lammet & Grisen’s restaurant at the summer resort island Öland. For many years my best meal ever. Now this was better, another level on the concept but I guess the memories from that time also came from the magical surroundings at Alvaret nature reserv.
I recommend you to visit Lammet & Grisen, either in Sälen or at Öland. A winning concept for meat lovers.

Ps: bered dig på att begå en dödssynd när du går hit. Rent frosseri för köttälskare som faller helt i farstun när sidorätterna är en fantastisk mix av olika grönsaker. Miljön är rustik men inget går upp mot barndomsminnet av besöket på Lammet & Grisen mitt i naturområdet Alvaret på Öland. Magiskt. Förhöjde maten.


3 for 6 Euro. Delicious. Fresh. Lovely setting but always crowded. Wait in line. Eat.

Don’t miss a visit in the lovely and handy shop Trädgårdsgatan in Vaxholm if you love antiques or want restoration advice. The owner has picked out lovely pieces and display them beautifully in perfect surroundings.

Saturday night we went out for an early dinner at Ribs & Rocks – I can really recommend it for meat lovers. The menu offer plentyful of ribs and steaks with your choice of sause and side dish. I went for ribs spiced up with Riga’s famous black magic accompained with The Baltic’s fantastic tasty dark bread, toasted and tosted in garlic and oil. My ribs was tender, meat almost fell from the bones and the taste from the marinade spirit Black Balzams sweet. Best of two world’s. The interior in gray and chilli red contrast with white table cloth and a row of perplex protected guitar hero geer. If you like to eat with Jimi Hendrix whispering in the air come early and if you like to here some of the best live cover bands in Riga come late. Very nice service here too.



Morning at Radisson Blu Dauguva: Breakfast tables set in an airy classic restaurant with white washed walls and black and white checked floors. Good impression (since I love a chess checked) with attentive staff and a buffé as big as my apartment (45 m2 for the record). Well, you can’t find american pancakes with maple syrup or even orange marmalade with peels (goes so well with hard cheese on toasted bread – try!) but almost everything else you would like, including virgin mary with tabasco sause and a celery stam. I always take a big plate of scrambled eggs, bacon, fried tomatoe and toast for start. Then some sweet toast tosted in jam and butter or butter with thin smoked ham and finally a bowl of fresh fruits, nuts and grained cocos. That is a great breakfast before sightseeing hours in town.

Miss T Loves…

… to talk over shared plates of meze. Yesterday we were supposed to go to a Korean restaurant but ended up at Halv grek plus turk with greek-turkish-palestinian meze on the menu. The restaurant was fully booked but we got a table in the lounge with low sofas, round metal plate tables and cosy cushions. In the air some jazzy vibes. The food was traditional but still a little innovative. For a soft take on a saturday night I will definitily recommend Grek plus halv turk, Jungfrugatan, Östermalm, Stockholm.
