Beverly Hills Hotel is such a lovely place for a romantic and super chic retro holiday on classic moviestar land. The redesigned hotel aged 101 and as new again has recently unveiled new pool canabas and a hip poolside café dubbed “a dinner destination for LA’s tastemakers. I would love to go back for a personal remake!

Biblioteka No 1 in Riga is situated in a famous building overlooking one of the beautiful parks in city center. The interior as well as the food is modern and international but the ingrediens’ is sourced locally. The staff was very attentive to our table of two and we was offered a nice gazpacho served as a shot by complement of the chief as well as a generous glas of sweet spirit as digester after dinner. The food is good and really nicely presented but you have to eat at least a two course menu to walk away satisfied. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a contempory summer spot in Riga – they also have a terass for drinks or italian wine. We booked a table some days in advance and since it is not that many it can be good. To our suprice this chic bar didn’t turn into a crowded and load friday night hang out so if you look for that as pudding take a short walk to close by Radisson blu hotel Latvija’s famous skyline bar on 26 th floor, where people in any age dance to house music and sipping cocktails all night long.

Today my boyfriend bought me a first class ticket home. He had to work. I thought it was sad to leave so early but now I am enjoying myself with big seats and free newspapers and magazines and coffee, water, chocolat and fruit. The best: The ticket cost less than economy class! And here comes a little gossip too: One of Sweden’s most famous “dansband”‘s singers, Olle Jönsson in Lasse Stefanz, talk very load in his cellphone two seats away!

This weekend my boyfriend has booked a lunch table at newcomer Strandvägen 1 – the latest spot on the list of new hot establishments in Stockholm. The adress (same as the name!) spells luxury so I am curious how that corresponds with the classic but cool atmospher the team is knowned for at Hotel Lydmar close by. The new restaurant was a well kept secret but opened monday this week next to the team’s other new place, Milles. Restaurant Strandvägen 1 has a classic menu and many seats, and Milles next door is small and adventurous in both sense.
