Miss T Loves…

… to travel. Staying home half a year after our long Bali hang out has energized my travel heart again. Has found some heavenly destinations to put on my bucketlist, this time more luxury than leisure. Next stop 2015:

1) Cornwall, UK, Europe. The south coast is for surfing, drinking hard cider and hunting antiques.

2) Zanzibar, Tanzania, Africa. Dream destination called “the next Mauritius” and famous for spices.

3) Tulum, Mexico, South America. Heared a great deal about this white washed beach spot.

4) Surfspot La Pedrera and José Ignacio – “the chicest spot in Latin Amerika” accourding to New York Times, Uruguay, South America.

5) Albanien, Europe. Un spoilt and still rather un travelled by most this poor country offers antique ruins, beautiful beaches and The blue lagoon.

6) Kapstaden, South Africa, Africa. Vineyards and beautiful scenery.

7) New York City, US. Got a ticket to the big apple from my boyfriend. Can se myself walking the high line in the morning and cheering the skyline from a roof top bar at midnight.

8) The amalfi coast, Italy, Europe. Maybe some days rest here before a wedding weekend in Tuscany.

9) Nice, France, Europe. Nice is always Nice. I love this beach strip. Next time I want to visit Grass’ perfumed fields top.

10) Visby, Gotland, Sweden, Europe. This rough and rugged sunshine island is something else. My boyfriend has not been there yet.

Extra: Berlin, Germany, Europe. You have to go there. At least I have. Europe’s historical heart.

This time of the year is not my cup of tea. Now it is so rainy, raw and early evenings even last weeks october feels like agera ago. Give me some travel tickets and I have to say no because I have obligations the rest of the year. I try to keep dreams alive but would like some help. Please, give me your best travel spots!

Holiday memory: Bois de Santal

I found this box of perfumed soaps from Paris tucked away at my mother’s attic. I think it was a gift from my father after a trip to Paris some twenty years ago. My mother try to get rid of things planing to leave her big house soon and I have to go threw my many saved collections of books, soaps, stamps, dolls, perfume bottles and more. This sented box of childhood memory (Is Roger & Gallet still there on 62, Avenue d’lena and still “by appointment to H.M Queen Elisabeth II”?), rose my passion for Paris again. I have not visited the city since staying there for a weekend at a friends place a couple of years ago and now a long to go back. Paris will always be special.

Miss T: Summer break in Italy

I just have to share this photo from last summer’s vacation in Trieste, Italy. The beach clubs were expensive and the public boardwalk meant rolling out your towel on concret more or less. That has it’s charm for a day or so (but stay longer and you have to buy a sun bed!) but this tanned italian stalion found an abandoned club for free. 😉

Ps: if you want to go to the beach use public transportation because there is damn hard to find a parking spot for anything bigger than the smallest fiat!

Today we sat down to split the check our last holiday in Italy and Croatia. The sums add up when you have fun. The best memory is shared food.

Italy is always too hot

Italy is always too much. It’s too beautiful men. Too high heels and too small bikinis on women. It’s too hot.
Italy is a castle with something ugly behind the amazing facade. You never know when to find the garbage behind the mountain. Even the nicest bars here in Tieste does not take visa card and that make me think they don’t pay tax. I think of Sopranos and the ugly reality behind that script.
I wake up and walk down to the hotel reception. The tv is on. It’s the first time in more than a week I see the news. At least I think it is the morning news. I don’t know, I don’t know Italian but I do recognise the face of Berlusconi. What a clishe’. Italy shows it’s ugliest face behind a well done sunburn. To much, I say.
Maybe I said to much. So I stop by adding Trieste is too beautiful to be real.

Next stop: Istria, Croatia

On monday we take air again, heading for Venice in Italy and then crossing the adriatic sea to Istria in Croatia.

I am so looking forward to seeing Croatia’s Tuscany where wine road cross the sculpted landscape and it’s not far to the sea even when overlooking a small vineyard up in a mountainside medieval village.

We plan to visit the ancient village Motovun (277 m above sea level) surounded by a 13th century stone wall and the new part with a outer wall built a couple of hundred years later!

Looking forward to try Istria’s autentic food specialities; curd ham and cheese, white truffles, olives and wine and a beef from a native ox. I love to taste a culture.
